Making Your Way Into the Blogging World

September 12th, 2009

By Mark A. Abrahams

In the last few years internet web-logs and journals have become the new, vogue way to impart information and opinions.  It seems these days everyone has their own journal, and some even make money from them.  But, before you hit ‘post’ there are a few tips and tricks you should keep in mind.

The best advice for creating a successful blog is to just keep writing.  You don’t need to spam post your readers with a post an hour, but failing to update frequently will make people forget your blog exists.  Some writers post content daily, some weekly.  Find a happy medium that works for you.  If you find you only have enough content to fill a post every two or three days, then set your personal goal to post every other day.

Another good tip is to find a niche to write about.  A search on the web might find dozens or even hundreds of other net-izens writing about the same topic as you.  However, a keen writer can find a niche to make their blog unique.  Don’t be afraid to write with personality, and inject a little bit of yourself into your posts. The best blogs are not only informative, but entertaining and personal.  Having good information is important, but your blog will really stand out if people enjoy reading it.

So, you think you want to blog?  Go ahead and find your topic, your niche, and start posting.  With a little dedication and a good topic you’ll soon be on your way to internet stardom.

Members area – Should it stay or should it go?

April 1st, 2009

A number of members of the MMEzine members area have expressed a concern that they are unable to login, or if they do manage to login, they are logged out and have to login again.

I have looked into this problem and have asked the creators of the script that I am using how to solve the problem and it seems that it is unknown why this keeps happening to some members and not to others.  Therefore there is no cure!

I would like to ask current members of the MMEzine to cast a vote in the poll below and let me know if you think the members area should stay or go.

Should the MMEzine members area stay
